Mexican Government buys televisions by tendering process

Two enterprises were the biggest winners for the processes, the Mexican supermarket chain Soriana and Comercializadora del Milenio in consortium with Diamond Electronics.

Mexican Government started tendering process in order to purchase digital televisions.

Mexico City, June 4, 2015.- The Mexican government started some tendering processes in order to purchase televisions destined to the low income population, caused by the transition to the digital signal of television in some parts of our country, that phenomenon is called the analog blackout and their effects will start to affect Mexican population really soon.

Because if this scenario two big enterprises were the biggest winners for the processes, the Mexican supermarket chain Soriana and Comercializadora del Milenio in consortium with Diamond Electronics, company that win the biggest part of the processes.

It`s important to remember that Soriana Group were chose by the Mexican government to provide basic products destined to government offices, unfortunately in the previous tendering process the supermarket chain couldn´t win the contracts to provide televisions. But in the latest tender this company won five contracts offered by the Mexican communication office SCT for 781,937 televisions, amount that could provide a utility of 1,930 million pesos.

But the main winner of the tendering process organized by the Mexican department called SCT were Comercializadora del Milenio associated with Diamond Electronics, the consortium got five contracts for 1`390,199 televisions destined to low income population in the Mexican sates of Puebla, Mexico, Tlaxcala and Mexico City, this transaction is estimated in 4 billion pesos to both companies

On the previous tendering process that took place on April the Mexican government purchased televisions to provide the south region of the country and Mexico City were the SCT needs to give more than one million and 800 thousand televisions in order to reach the federal goal of 2.3 million of televisions gaved to the low incomes population that couldn’t afford a new one in the supermarkets before the analog blackout starts in the Mexican soil.
